Ὅτι τὸ ἔθνος οἱ Μαρμαρίδαι προνενεύκασιν Αἰγύπτου, ἤτοι πρὸ τῆς Αἰγύπτου τέτανται. Καλοῦνται δὲ οὕτως ἀπὸ Μαρμαρίδου τινὸς υἱοῦ Ἄραβος, καὶ ἡ χώρα αὐτῶν Μαρμαρική.
