Ἡ ΘΕ ἄρα πρὸς ΘΓ μείζονα λόγον ἔχει ἢ ὃν ᾱροβ η΄ πρὸς ρνγ | Ἐπεὶ γὰρ δέδεικται ἡ ΕΓ πρὸς ΘΓ μείζονα λόγον ἔχουσα ἤπερ ᾱρξβ η΄ πρὸς ρνγ, εἴ τις ὑποθοῖτο αὐτὰς οὕτως ἔχειν, ἔσται τὸ μὲν ἀπὸ ΕΓ Μ φλδ L΄ ξδ΄, τὸ δὲ ἀπὸ ΓΘ Μ γυθ. Τὸ ἄρα ἀπὸ ΕΘ ἴσον ὂν τοῖς ἀπὸ ΕΓ, ΓΘ ἔσται Μ γϠμγ L΄ ξδ΄, ὧν πλευρὰ τετραγωνικὴ ᾱροβ η΄ ἔγγιστα· λείπεται γὰρ τῆς ἀκριβοῦς δυνάμεως τὸ ἀπʼ αὐτῆς μ ξϚ L΄. Οἱ δὲ πολλαπλασιασμοὶ ὑπόκεινται·
