<ΑΛΛΩΣ> Ἕτεροι δὲ τὸν σποδὸν τῶν πρώτων ὑδάτων ταῖς ἀπ' αὐτῶν αἰθάλαις ἑνώσαντες ὡς εἰ ⸕ τῇ 𐆄 βαλόντες καὶ προδιχάσαντες, ταύτας ἔβρεχον ὡς ὥραν μίαν, καὶ ἀνεκομίζοντο ὕδωρ. Καὶ πάλιν ἑτέραν βαλόντες, ἀπέβρεχον καὶ ἀνεκομίζοντο. Καὶ τρίτον καὶ σποδῷ μίξαντες, ἀνελάμβανον τὰς αἰθάλας, καὶ οὕτω ταῖς ὑπολελειμμέναις αἰθάλαις ἔμισγον, λευκαῖς καὶ ξανθαῖς ἢ ἀλλοίαις, τοῦ σταθμοῦ μὴ φροντίσαντες· καὶ οὗτοι Ζωσίμῳ τῷ μεγάλῳ ἐξακολουθοῦντες εἰπόντι· «Πάντη γὰρ ἢ πλεῖον ἢ ἔλαττον, οὐδὲν ἀδικήσεις· ἓν γάρ ἐστι τὸ ζητούμενον ἀπ' αἰῶνος, ἡ τῆς ποιήσεως ἀγωγή.»
