Περὶ δὲ τῆς χρείας αὐτῶν ἀναμνησθῆναι χρὴ τῶν ἐν ἑτέροις ἐπιδεδειγμένων, ὅτι φυλακῆς ἕνεκα τῆς καθ’ ὅλον τὸ σῶμα θερμασίας γεγόνασιν ἐμψύχοντές τε ταύτην καὶ εἴ τι λιγνυῶδες ἐκ τῆς τῶν χυμῶν συγκαύσεως ὑποτρέφοιτο, τοῦτ’ εὐθέως ἀποκρίνοντες. εἴρηται δ’ ἐν ἐκείνοις ὡς καὶ τῇ γεννήσει τοῦ ψυχικοῦ πνεύματος συντελοῦσι.
