Τὸ δὲ ἄρθρον διακινέειν μὴ βίῃ, ἀλλὰ τοσοῦτον, ὅσον ἀνωδύνως κινήσεται. καθίσταται δὲ πάντα τὰ μὲν ἐν πλείονι χρόνῳ, τὰ δ’ ἐν ἐλάσσονι. Οὐδέν ἐστι χρησιμώτερον τῆς τοιαύτης κινήσεως ἐν παρακμαζούσαις φλεγμοναῖς. λύει γὰρ αὐτῶν τὸ λείψανον ἅπαν, ἐξ οὗ πέφυκεν ἀμεληθέντος ἀγκυλοῦσθαί τε καὶ δεσμεῖσθαι τὰ ἄρθρα, καλοῦσι γὰρ ἑκατέρως τὸ πάθημα.
