[ιγ΄. Περὶ ἅλμης.] Ἅλμη τῶν ταριχηρῶν ἰχθύων ὁμοίως τῷ γάρῳ πρός τε τὰς σηπεδόνας ἁρμόζει καὶ πρὸς ἰσχιάδας καὶ δυσεντερίαν ἐνιεμένη, τῇ δὲ δριμύτητι τοὺς μὲν τὸ ἰσχίον ἐνοχλοῦντας χυμοὺς ἐπισπᾶται καὶ διὰ τῶν ἐντέρων ἐκκενοῖ, τὰ δὲ σηπεδονώδη τῶν ἑλκῶν ἐν τῇ δυσεντερίᾳ περικλύζει τε καὶ ξηραίνει. μάλιστα δὲ τῇ τῶν ταριχηρῶν σιλούρων καὶ τῇ τῶν μαινίδων ἅλμῃ πρὸς τὰ τοιαῦτα κέχρηνταί τινες ἰατροὶ, καὶ ἡμεῖς δ’ ἐπὶ τῶν ἐν στόματι σηπεδονωδῶν ἑλκῶν ἐχρησάμεθα.
