Περὶ ἄρου.] Ἄρον. ἐκ γεώδους καὶ τοῦτο γέγονεν οὐσίας θερμῆς, καὶ διὰ τοῦτο ῥυπτικῆς ἐστι δυνάμεως, ἀλλ’ οὐκ ἰσχυρᾶς ὥσπερ τὸ δρακόντιον. ἔστιν οὖν ἔν τε τῷ ξηραίνειν καὶ τῷ θερμαίνειν τῆς πρώτης κατ’ ἄμφω τάξεως. αἱ ῥίζαι δ’ αὐτοῦ μάλιστ’ εἰσὶ χρήσιμοι. καὶ δὴ καὶ ἐσθιόμεναι τέμνουσι πάχος χυμῶν μετρίως, ὥστε καὶ ταῖς ἐκ θώρακος ἀναπτύσεσίν εἰσιν ἐπιτήδειοι. τὸ δὲ δρακόντιον εἰς ταῦτα ἐπιτηδειότερον.
