[θ΄. Περὶ αἰγίλωπος.] Αἰγίλωψ διαφορητικὴν ἔχει τὴν δύναμιν, δῆλον δ’ ἐκ τῆς γεύσεως, ἠρέμα γάρ πώς ἐστι δριμύς. οὐ μὴν ἀλλὰ κᾀκ τοῦ τὰς σκληρυνομένας φλεγμονὰς καὶ τοὺς αἰγίλωπας ἰᾶσθαι. [ι΄. Περὶ αἴρας.] Αἴρα ξηραίνει καὶ θερμαίνει δραστικῶς, ὡς ἐγγὺς εἶναι τῶν δριμέων ἴρεως μᾶλλον. οὐκ ἔστι δὲ ὡς ἐκείνη λεπτομερὴς, ἀλλ’ ἀπολείπεται συχνῷ κατὰ τοῦτο, καὶ θείη ἄν τις αὐτὴν ἐν ἀρχῇ μὲν τῆς τρίτης τάξεως τῶν θερμαινόντων, ἐπὶ τελευτῇ δὲ δευτέρας τῶν ξηραινόντων.
