[κ΄. Περὶ κερατωνίας.] Κερατωνία ξηραντικῆς ἐστι καὶ στυπτικῆς δυνάμεως, ὥσπερ καὶ ὁ καρπὸς αὐτῆς τὰ κεράτια καλούμενα, μετέχων δηλονότι καὶ γλυκύτητός τινος. πέπονθε δέ τι καὶ ταῦτα τοῖς κερασίοις παραπλήσιον. ὑγρὰ μὲν γὰρ μᾶλλον ὑπάγει τὴν γαστέρα, ξηρὰ δ’ ἵστησι μᾶλλον, ὡς ἂν ἀποπνέοντα μὲν τὴν ὑγρότητα, τὸ γεωδέστερον δὲ τῆς οὐσίας ὑπολειπόμενον ἔχοντα.
