[μστ΄. Περὶ κοτυληδόνος.] Κοτυληδὼν μικτῆς ἐστι δυνάμεως ὑγρᾶς, ὑποψύχρου καὶ τινὸς ἀμυδρῶς ὑποστυφούσης καὶ σὺν αὐτῇ βραχείας πικρᾶς, ὅθεν ἐμψύχει καὶ ἀποκρούεται καὶ ῥύπτει καὶ διαφορεῖ. φλεγμονάς τε οὖν τὰς ἐρυσιπελατώδεις καὶ ἐρυσιπέλατα φλεγμονώδη θεραπεύει, καὶ μάλιστα στομάχου καυσουμένου χρήσιμον ἱκανῶς ἐστιν ἐπίπλασμα. πεπίστευται δὲ τὰ φύλλα σὺν τῇ ῥίζῃ ἐσθιόμενα λίθους τε θρύπτειν καὶ οὖρα κινεῖν.
