[νστ΄. Περὶ κροκοδειλίου.] Κροκοδειλίου τὸ σπέρμα δριμὺ μέν ἐστι καὶ ἀρωματίζον οὐρητικόν τε καὶ καταμηνίων κινητικὸν, ὥστε καὶ θερμῆς ἂν εἴη δυνάμεως καὶ διαφορητικῆς καὶ ξηραντικῆς. καὶ ὁ χυλὸς δὲ τοῦ τε καυλοῦ καὶ τοῦ σπέρματος ὁμοίας ὢν δυνάμεως μὲν ὠφελεῖ τοὺς νεφριτικούς. ἡ δὲ ῥίζα ταῖς τοῦ θώρακος ἀναπτύσεσιν ἰσχυρῶς συνεργεῖ, δριμεῖα μὲν ἧττον ὑπάρχουσα τοῦ σπέρματος, πικρὰ δ’ οὐχ ἧττον οὖσα. ἄγει δὲ καὶ διὰ ῥινῶν αἷμα.
