[κγ΄. Περὶ λωτοῦ ἡμέρου.] Λωτὸς ὁ ἥμερος, ὃν ἔνιοι τρίφυλλον ὀνομάζουσι πεπτικῆς μετρίως ἐστὶ δυνάμεως, οὕτως δὲ καὶ ξηραντικῆς. ἐν δὲ τῇ κατὰ θερμότητα καὶ ψύξιν συζυγίᾳ μέσος πώς ἐστιν καὶ εὔκρατος. ὁ δ’ ἄγριος λωτὸς ἐν Λιβύῃ μὲν πλεῖστος γεννᾶται. τὸ σπέρμα δ’ αὐτοῦ τῆς δευτέρας τάξεώς ἐστι τῶν θερμαινόντων, ἔχει δέ τι καὶ ῥυπτικόν. τοῦ δ’ Αἰγυπτίου τὸ σπέρμα καὶ ἀρτοποιοῦται.
