[ιβ΄. Περὶ μηδίου.] Μηδίου τὴν ῥίζαν πρὸς τὸν καρπὸν ὑπεναντίως κεκρᾶσθαι συμβέβηκεν. ἡ μὲν γὰρ αὐστηρά τ’ ἐστὶ καὶ ῥευμάτων ἐφεκτικὴ τῶν τε ἄλλων καὶ δὴ καὶ τοῦ καλουμένου ῥοῦ γυναικείου. τὸ δὲ σπέρμα τοσοῦτον δεῖται τοιοῦτόν τι ποιεῖν, ὥστε καὶ προτρέπει καταμήνια, λεπτομεροῦς καὶ τμητικῆς ὑπάρχον δυνάμεως.
