[ι΄. Περὶ ὄξους.] Ὄξος ἐν τῷ πρώτῳ τῶνδε τῶν ὑπομνημάτων δέδεικται μικτῆς οὐσίας ὑπάρχον ψυχρᾶς καὶ θερμῆς ἀμφοῖν λεπτομερῶν. ἐπικρατεῖ δὲ τῆς θερμῆς ἡ ψυχρά. ξηραντικὸν δ’ ἱκανῶς ἐστι τὸ φάρμακον, ὡς τρίτης εἶναι τάξεως ἤδη συμπληρουμένης, ὅτ’ ἂν δ’ ἰσχυρὸν ὑπάρχῃ.
