[ιγ΄. Περὶ σιδηρίτιδος.] Σιδηρῖτις ἔχει μέν τι καὶ ῥυπτικὸν, ἀλλὰ τό γε πλέον αὐτῆς ὑγρόν ἐστι καὶ μετρίως ψυχρὸν, ὀλίγης δέ τινος μετείληφε στύψεως, ὅθεν ἀφλέγμαντός τ’ ἐστὶ καὶ κολλητικός. καλοῦσι δ’ ἔνιοι καὶ τὴν Ἀχίλλειον σιδηρῖτιν ἐμφερῆ μὲν τῇ προειρημένῃ κατὰ τὴν δύναμιν οὖσαν, εἴς γε τὰ νῦν εἰρημένα, πλεονεκτούσης δ’ αὐτῆς τῇ στύψει. διὸ καὶ πρὸς αἱμοῤῥαγίας τε καὶ δυσεντερίας καὶ τοὺς γυναικείους ἁρμόττει ῥοῦς.
