[μζ΄. Περὶ σφονδύλου.] Σφονδύλου ὁ μὲν καρπὸς δριμείας ἐστὶ καὶ τμητικῆς δυνάμεως, ὥστε καὶ πρὸς ἆσθμα καὶ πρὸς ἐπίληψιν ἀγαθόν ἐστι φάρμακον. ὀνίνησι δὲ καὶ τοὺς ἰκτερικούς. καὶ ἡ ῥίζα δὲ παραπλησίας ὑπάρχουσα δυνάμεως ἐπὶ τῶν αὐτῶν ἁρμόττει, προσέτι δὲ καὶ τοὺς ἐκ συρίγγων τύλους ἀφαιρεῖ. χρὴ δὲ περιξύσαντας ἐντιθέναι. καὶ τοῦ ἄνθους δὲ ὁ χυλὸς ἀποτίθεται, τοῖς κατὰ τὰ ὦτα χρονιωτέροις ἕλκεσιν ἁρμόττων.
