[η΄. Περὶ ἀγηράτου.] Ἔστι δὲ καὶ ὁ ἀγήρατος καλούμενος λίθος, ᾧ τοὺς σκυτοτόμους ὁρῶμεν χρωμένους, μικτῆς δ’ ἐστὶ δυνάμεως στυπτικῆς τε καὶ διαφορητικῆς, ἀλλὰ περὶ μόνης τῆς στυπτικῆς σκεπτέον. ὠφελεῖ μὲν ἐναργῶς γαργαρεῶνας φλεγμαίνοντας, οὐ μὴν γευομένοις γε σαφῆ στύψιν ἔχων ἢ δριμύτητα φαίνεται.
