[κη΄. Περὶ σκωρίας.] Σκωρία πᾶσα ξηραντικὸν ἱκανῶς ἐστι φάρμακον, ἡ δὲ τοῦ σιδήρου μάλιστα. καὶ λειοτάτην γε ποιῶν αὐτὴν ἐν ὄξει δριμυτάτῳ, καὶ μετὰ ταῦθ’ ἑψῶν εἴς τε τὰ πυοῤῥοῦντα τῶν ὤτων χρονίως χρῶμαι φαρμάκῳ ξηραντικωτάτῳ, ὥστε θαυμάζειν τοὺς ἰδόντας σκευαζόμενον αὐτὸ καὶ ἀπιστεῖν αὐτῷ πρὸ τῆς πείρας, εἰ ἀναδέχεσθαι δύναται τὰ ὦτα τοιούτου φαρμάκου. τὴν δὲ τοῦ ἀργυρίου σκωρίαν ἰδίως προσαγορεύουσιν ἕλκυσμα, καὶ μίγνυται δὲ καὶ ἐμπλάστροις τισὶ ξηραντικῆς δηλονότι δυνάμεως οὖσιν.
