[λστ΄. Περὶ χαλκοῦ κεκαυμένου.] Χαλκὸς κεκαυμένος ἔχει μέν τι καὶ δριμὺ, καὶ στύψεως δὲ μετέχει, καὶ διὰ τοῦτο, εἰ πλυθείη, κάλλιστόν ἐστι φάρμακον εἰς συνούλωσιν ἑλκῶν, ἐργάζεσθαι δὲ τοῦτο δύναται καὶ πρὶν πλυθῆναι, καὶ μάλιστ’. ἐπὶ τῶν σκληροτέρων σαρκῶν. ταῖς δ’ ἁπαλαῖς ὁ πεπλυμένος χρησιμώτερος. [λζ΄. Περὶ χαλκοῦ ἄνθους.] Χαλκοῦ ἄνθος λεπτομερεστέρας ἐστὶ τοῦτο δυνάμεως τοῦ τε κεκαυμένου χαλκοῦ καὶ τῆς λεπίδος. εἰκότως οὖν δι’ αὐτοῦ σκευάζοντες κολλύρια ῥύπτουσί τε καὶ ἀφαιροῦσιν τῶν βλεφάρων τὰς μεγάλας τραχύτητας, ἃς συκώσεις ὀνομάζουσιν.
