[δ΄. Περὶ ἀῤῥενικοῦ.] Ἀῤῥενικὴ ἢ ἀῤῥενικὸν, ἑκατέρως γὰρ ὀνομάζεται, καυστικῆς ἐστι δυνάμεως, ἄκαυτόν τε καὶ κεκαυμένον. εὔδηλον δ’ ὅτι καὶ λεπτομερέστερον γίγνεται καυθέν. χρῶνται δ’ αὐτῷ καὶ εἰς τὰς ψιλώσεις τῶν τριχῶν ὡς ἀποκαίοντι· εἰ χρονίσειέ γε, καὶ αὐτοῦ τοῦ δέρματος ἅπτεται.
