Μὴ σύ γ᾿ ἐνὶ τριόδοισι τύχῃς ὅτε δῆγμα πεφυγὼς
Περκνὸς ἔχις θύῃσι, τυπὴν χολόεσσαν ἐχίδνης.
Ἡνίκα θορνυμένου ἔχιος θολερῷ κυνόδοντι,
Θουρὰς ὀδὰξ ἐμφῦσα κάρην ἀπέκοψεν ὁμεύνου·
Οἱ δὲ πατρὸς λώβην μετεκίαθον αὐτίκα τυτθοὶ
Γεινόμενοι ἐχιῆες, ἐπεὶ διὰ μητρὸς ἀραιὴν
Γαστέρ᾿ ἀναῤῥήξαντες ἀμήτορες ἐξεγένοντο.
