Διὰ τοῦτο δὲ καλέονται καὶ διὰ τοῦτο κινέονται, ὅτι ἐντεῦθεν ἐξήρτηνται. Μασητῆρας εἰπὼν καλεῖσθαι τοὺς προειρημένους μύας αἰτίας ἀποδίδωσι τῆς προσηγορίας αὐτῶν. ὅτι γὰρ ἐντεῦθεν ἐξήρτηνται, τουτέστιν ἐκ τῶν ἀκρέων τῆς γένυος, διὰ τοῦτο κινοῦνται μασωμένων καὶ καλοῦνται μασητῆρες.
