Καίτοι ἢν σφακελίσῃ, τὸν αἰῶνα πάντα ἱκανὸν ἀντισχεῖν τὸ νόσημα. Φανερώτερον νῦν εἰρηκέναι τὸν ὅλον Βίον τοῦ ἀνθρώπου, καὶ ἔστιν ὁ λόγος αὐτοῦ τοιοῦτος· ἄν ποτε ἡ πτέρνα σφακελίσῃ, ἀνίατον γίγνεται τὸ πάθημα καὶ παραμένει τῷ βίῳ παντὶ ἡ ἐξ αὐτοῦ κάκωσις.
