Δάκτυλον ἐκφυῆναι μέγαν τὸν ἐν μέσῳ τῶν δακτύλων καὶ ἀπεναντίον τὸν μέγαν τῷ λιχανῷ. Οὐ γὰρ δυνατὸν ἄλλως ἀντιτετάχθαι κατὰ τὰς ἐνεργείας τῷ λιχανῷ τὸν μέγαν δάκτυλον, εἰ μὴ τὸ μέσον αὐτοῦ εἴη μέγα. τοῦτο δὲ κἀπὶ τῶν ἄλλων δακτύλων ἄριστον, ἵν’ ὅταν ἐν κύκλῳ δέῃ περιλαβεῖν τι σῶμα μέγα, πανταχόθεν αὐτὸ περιλαμβάνωσιν ἐπὶ πλεῖστον διϊστάμενοι.
