Οἱ δὲ διαφεύγοντες, ἢ μετὰ ἀποστήματος ἢ αἵματος ῥύσιος ἐκ τῆς ῥινὸς, ἢ πῦον παχὺ πτύσαντες διαφεύγουσιν, ἄλλως δὲ οὔ. Ἐπειδὴ θνήσκειν αὐτοὺς εἶπεν, οὐχ ἁπλῶς, ἀλλὰ προσέγραψεν, ὡς ἐπὶ τὸ πολὺ, διὰ τοῦτο ἀκόλουθον ἦν εἰπεῖν ὅπως ἐξ αὐτῶν ἔνιοι σώζονται. τούτους οὖν νῦν διεξέρχεται, καί φησιν ἢ δι᾿ αἱμοῤῥαγίας ἢ δι᾿ ἀποστήματος ἢ διὰ πύου πτύσεως ἱκανῶς πεπεμμένου σώζεσθαί τινας ἐξ αὐτῶν, συνενδεικνύμενος ἐξ ὧν εἶπε, διὰ πλῆθος τοῖς τοιούτοις περιπίπτειν συμπτώμασι τοὺς κάμνοντας.
