Εἰς ἐλάτην ἀναβὰς περιμήκετον, ἣ τότ’ ἐν Ἴδῃ
Μακροτάτη πεφυκυῖα δι’ ἠέρος αἰθέρ’ ἵκανεν.
ἠέρα δ’ Ἥρη
Πότνια πρόσθε βαθεῖαν ἐρυκέμεν,
Ἀὴρ γὰρ παρὰ νηυσὶ βαθείη, οὐδὲ σελήνη
Οὐρανόθεν προύφαινε, κατείχετο δ’ ἐν νεφέεσιν.
