Αἱ μετὰ λυγγὸς ἀφωνίαι κάκιστον. Ἀφωνίαι γίνονται μὲν καὶ διὰ τὴν τῶν φωνητικῶν ὀργάνων βλάβην καὶ διὰ τὴν ἀρχὴν τῶν νεύρων πεπονθυῖαν. ἡ δὲ λὺγξ οἷον σπασμώδης τίς ἐστιν τοῦ στόματος τῆς γαστρὸς διάθεσις ἐπὶ πλήθει ὑγρῶν βαρυνομένου ἢ δακνομένου ἢ διὰ ψύξιν ἀνιωμένου. τί παθόντων οὖν τῶν φωνητικῶν ὀργάνων λὺγξ ἐπηκολούθησε; λείπεται οὖν ἢ πλῆθος ὑγροῦ τοῦ καὶ τὴν ἀφωνίαν ἐμποιήσαντος παραρρυῆναι εἰς τὸ στόμα τῆς γαστρὸς ἢ διὰ τὸ εἶναι δριμὺ ἢ ψυχρόν ********* Ἐν ἀφωνίῃ πνεῦμα οἷον τοῖσι πνιγομένοισι πρόχειρον πονηρόν. ἆρά γε καὶ παρακρουστικὸν τὸ τοιοῦτον; | * * *
