Ἤδη πολλάκις ὁ λόγος οὗτος εἴρηται καὶ κατὰ μέρος καὶ καθόλου, καὶ βέλτιόν γε δηλοῦται προσκειμένου τοῦ ‘ἐξαίφνης’ καὶ τοῦ ‘ἀφανισθέντα’· τὸ γὰρ καταμωλυνθέντα τὴν κατὰ βραχὺ λύσιν ἐνδείκνυται. τὸ δ' ἐξαίφνης ἀφανισθῆναι τὰς ὀδυνηρὰς διαθέσεις ἄνευ τοῦ κατ' ἄλλο τι μέρος τῶν προφανῶν ἀπόστασιν γενέσθαι πρὸς τὰ σπλάγχνα δηλοῖ τὴν μετάστασιν τῶν λυπούντων γεγονέναι.
