ὅτι ὅσον μὲν ἐπὶ τὸ τὴν λογιστικὴν ψυχὴν ἐνδεδέσθαι θνητῷ σώματι, τὴν κεφαλὴν ἤρκει διαπλασθῆναι μόνον· καὶ μάλιστα ὅτι τὰ τῶν αἰσθήσεων ὄργανα κατ' αὐτὴν ἐγένοντο προσήκοντα. τὴν δὲ κατὰ τόπον κίνησιν, πῶς ἂν τὸ ζῷον ἤνυεν, εἰ μὴ πρῶτον μὲν ἔσχε μῆκος τὸ σῶμα, δεύτερον δὲ ὄργανα τὰ βαστάζοντά τε τὸ μῆχος τοῦτο καὶ κινοῦντα;
