ὅτι εἰ ἐκ διεστώτων στοιχείων, οἵαιπερ αἱ ἄτομοι λέγονται πρὸς τῶν τιθεμένων αὐτὰς, συνέκειτο τὰ σώματα ἡμῶν, οὐκ ἂν ἤλγησεν ὡς Ἱπποκράτης φησίν. συνέρχονται γὰρ αὗται κατ' αὐτοὺς καὶ πάλιν ἀποχωρίζονται, διαίρεσιν δὲ οὐδεμίαν οὐδὲ ἀλλοίωσιν ἴσχουσιν.
