Καὶ δὴ καὶ Σπυρίδων Κύπριός τις ἀνὴρ ἐπίσημος ἐν κυρίῳ καὶ τὴν ἐκ ποιμενικὴν ποιμενικὴν πεῖραν τῇ τοῦ Χριστοῦ ποίμνῃ καθιερωμένος, προφητικῷ βίω̣ διαγινόμενος ἐγνωρίζετο, ὃς καί γε διέπων τὴν ἐπισκοπὴν τοῦ ποιμαίνειν τὰ ἴδια πρόβατα οὐκ ἐπαύετο.
