Δημοσθένης ἐν τῇ περὶ τῆς ἑαυτοῦ καθόδου ἐπιστολῇ. νῆσός ἐστι πλησίον Τροιζῆνος, ὡς Ἑκαταῖος ἐν περιόδῳ τῆς γῆς ἔφη. ἐκαλεῖτο δὲ πρότερον Εἰρήνη ἡ Καλαύρεια, καθά φησιν Ἀντικλείδης. Λυκοῦργος ἐν τῷ κατὰ Λυκόφρονος. περὶ τῶν κανηφόρων Φιλόχορος ἐν β Ἀτθίδος φησὶν ὡς Ἐριχθονίου βασιλεύοντος πρῶτον κατέστησαν αἱ ἐν ἀξιώματι παρθένοι φέρειν τὰ κανᾶ τῇ θεῷ, ἐφ’ οἷς ἐπέκειτο τὰ πρὸς τὴν θυσίαν, τοῖς τε Παναθηναίοις καὶ ταῖς ἄλλαις πομπαῖς.
