Δημοσθένης ἐν τῷ πρὸς Τιμόθεον. Δίδυμός φησι τὰς ὑπὸ Λυκίου κατεσκευασμένας φιάλας, τοῦ Μύρωνος υἱοῦ, οὕτως εἰρῆσθαι. ἀγνοεῖν δὲ ἔοικεν ὁ γραμματικὸς ὅτι τὸν τοιοῦτον σχηματισμὸν ἀπὸ κυρίων ὀνομάτων οὐκ ἄν τις εὕροι γινόμενον, μᾶλλον δὲ ἀπὸ πόλεων καὶ ἐθνῶν· κλίνη Μιλησιουργής Κριτίας φησὶν ἐν τῇ Λακεδαιμονίων πολιτείᾳ. μήποτ’ οὖν γραπτέον καὶ παρ’ Ἡροδότῳ ἐν τῇ ζ, ἀντὶ τοῦ προβόλους δύο Λυκοεργέας, Λυκιεργέας, ἵνα ὥσπερ παρὰ τῷ Δημοσθένει οὕτως ὀνομάζηται τὰ ἐν Λυκίᾳ εἰργασμένα.
