Λυσίας ἐν τῇ πρὸς Πολυκράτην κατ’ Ἐμπέδου ἐπιστολῇ, εἰ γνήσιος, φησὶν ἢ τὸν ὀφθαλμὸν τὸν ἕτερον γλαυκότερον εἶναι ἢ πεφοριῶσθαι ἐπὶ τοῦ ἀποκεκλειμένου, ὥσπερ Εὐφορίων κέχρηται τῷ ὀνόματι· εἰσὶ γάρ τινες ὀφθαλμοὶ κατακεχαλασμένα ἔχοντες τὰ βλέφαρα καὶ οἱονεὶ μύοντες. ἐὰν δὲ γράφηται ΠΕΦΟΡΙΝΩΣΘΑΙ, εἴη ἂν πεπαχύνθαι, ἀπὸ τῆς φορίνης· ὅτι γὰρ καὶ ἐπ’ ἀνθρώπων τάσσουσι τὴν φορίνην δῆλον ποιεῖ Ἀντιφῶν ἐν β Ἀληθείας.
