τὸ ὑφ’ ἡμῶν λεγόμενον σφραγιδοφυλάκιον Λυσίας ἐν τῷ κατ’ Εὐφήμου καὶ Ἀριστοφάνης Ἥρωσιν. Ὑπερείδης πρὸς Ἀπελλαῖον. ἄπορον πῶς ἀπὸ τούτου ἐσχημάτισται παρὰ τῷ Διδύμῳ· καὶ γὰρ οὐ δι’ ὧν παρέθετο ὁ γραμματικὸς ὠνόμασε τὰ Πύθια ἑορτὴν, ἀλλὰ τὸν Πύθιον Ἀπόλλωνα. Ὑπερείδης ἐν τῷ ὑπὲρ Χαιρεφίλου α φησὶ καὶ τῆς Πυκνὸς τοσοῦτον εὑρισκούσης. ἡ τῶν Ἀθηναίων ἐκκλησία οὕτως ἐκαλεῖτο. πολλὴ δ’ ἡ μνήμη αὐτῆς παρ’ Ἀττικοῖς. Κλείδημος δ’ ἐν γ Πρωτογονίας συνῄεσάν φησιν εἰς τὴν Πύκνα ὀνομασθεῖσαν διὰ τὸ τὴν συνοίκησιν πυκνουμένην εἶναι.
