ὅταν τις λέγῃ τινὰ ἔχειν τι τῶν τῆς πόλεως, ἀπογραφὴν ποιεῖται ὁ ἐναγόμενος, δηλῶν πόθεν ἔχει τὰ χρήματα καὶ πόσα ταῦτα εἴη. μήποτε δὲ καὶ εἶδός τι δίκης ἐστὶν ἡ ἀπογραφή· εἰ γὰρ ἀρνοῖτό τις μὴ ἔχειν, ἀπογραφῆς ἐκρίνετο ὡς οὐκ ὀρθῶς γεγενημένης τῆς ἀπογραφῆς· Δημοσθένης κατ’ Ἀνδροτίωνος. τί δὲ ἦν τὸ κινδύνευμα τῷ τὴν ἀπογραφὴν ποιουμένῳ, ἐν τῷ Δημοσθένους πρὸς Νικόστρατον περὶ τῶν Ἀρεθουσίου ἀνδραπόδων, εἰ γνήσιος, δῆλον γίνεται.
