(3) Βραχυκατάληκτα δὲ καλεῖται, ὅσα ἀπὸ διποδίας ἐπὶ τέλους ὅλῳ ποδὶ μεμείωται, οἷον ἐπὶ ἰαμβικοῦ (fr. lyr. adesp. 45) ἄγ’ αὖτ’ ἐς οἶκον τὸν Κλεησίππω· ἐνταῦθα γὰρ ὁ ͞σ͞ι͞π͞π͞ω ποὺς ἀντὶ ὅλης ἰαμβικῆς κεῖται διποδίας.
