Ἐκ δʼ αὖ μόνων προσώπων διπλοῦς γίνεται στοχασμός, ὅταν μόνα τὰ πρόσωπα κρίνηται, οἷον ἐπὶ μείοις φαρμάκων ἀριστεὺς ἐτελεύτα μητρυιὰν ἔχων καὶ αἰχμάλωτον παλλακίδα, καὶ ἀντεγκαλοῦσιν ἀλλήλαις· ἐνταῦθα μόνη ἡ βούλησις καὶ ἡ δύναμις ἐξετάζεται, ἃ δὴ καὶ φύσει τοῦ προσώπου ἐστὶν ἴδια, τὰ δὲ ἄλλα πάντα ἰσάζει.
