Κίονα μετρήσωμεν οὕτως, οὗ τὸ μῆκος ποδῶν ῑ, ἡ δὲ μείζων διάμετρος ποδῶν δ, ἡ δὲ ἐλάττων ποδῶν β· σύμβαλλε τὰ δ καὶ β· γίνονται ϛ· ὧν τὸ ἥμισυ κράτει γ· ταῦτα δίπλωσον καὶ ποίησον ϛ. διὰ τὸ οὖν ὑφαιρεθῆναι τὰ δ σύνθες τὰ β εἰς δ· γίνονται καὶ τὰ ἄνω ϛ· γίνονται ιβ· σύμβαλλε ἐπὶ τὰ ῑ· γίνονται πόδες κβ.
