Λάκκον ἀσβέστου μετρήσωμεν οὕτως· ἔστω τὸ μῆκος ποδῶν ῑ, τὸ δὲ πλάτος ποδῶν η, τὸ δὲ βάθος ποδῶν γ· πολυπλασίασον τὸ βάθος ἐπὶ τὸ πλάτος· γίνονται πόδες κδ· τούτους ἐπὶ τὸ μῆκος· γίνονται πόδες σμ. τοσούτων ποδῶν ἔσται τὸ στερεὸν τοῦ λάκκου τοῦ ἀσβέστου.
