Ἱπποδρόμιον μετρήσωμεν οὕτως, ὥστε γνῶναι ἡμᾶς, πόσους ἄνδρας χωρεῖ. ἐχέτω μῆκος ποδῶν σ· τούτους δίπλωσον· γίνονται υ. ἀρίθμησον τὰ βάθρα τοῦ ἑνὸς μέρους· ἐν ὑποδείγματι ἐχέτω ν. δίπλωσον καὶ ταῦτα· γίνονται ρ· τὰ ρ ἐπὶ τὰ υ γίνονται μυριάδες δ· ὡς δῆλον, ὅτι χρὴ ἡμᾶς εἰπεῖν, δ μυριάδας χωρεῖν τὸ ἱπποδρόμιον.
