Ἔστω σφαῖρα ἔχουσα διάμετρον ποδῶν ῑδ· εὑρεῖν αὐτῆς τὸ στερεόν. ποίει οὕτως· τὰ ῑδ ἐφʼ ἑαυτά· γίνονται πόδες ρ𝔮ϛ· ταῦτα πάλιν ἐπὶ τὰ ῑδ· γίνονται βψμδ · ὧν τὸ κα΄ ἔστω τὸ στερεόν. τὴν δὲ ἐπιφάνειαν αὐτοῦ εὑρεῖν. ποίει οὕτως· τὴν διάμετρον ἐφʼ ἑαυτήν· ταῦτα ἑνδεκάκις· γίνονται πόδες ,βρνϛ· τούτων τὸ ιδ΄· γίνονται πόδες ρνδ· ταῦτα τετράκις· γίνονται πόδες χιϛ· ἐπειδὴ ἡ σφαῖρα δ κύκλων ἐμβαδὸν ποιεῖ .
