Μείζονος τμήματος σφαίρας, οὗ ἡ κάθετος ποδῶν κδ, ἡ δὲ βάσις ποδῶν κδ, προσαναπληροῦται ἡ ὅλη σφαῖρα. τὸ U+2220΄ τῆς βάσεως· ἐφʼ ἑαυτά· ταῦτα μέρισον παρὰ τὴν κάθετον· γίνονται πόδες ϛ· ἔσται ἄρα τοῦ προσαναγραφέντος ἐλάσσονος τμήματος ἡ κάθετος ϛ· ὡς τὴν ὅλην ποδῶν λ. μέτρει οὖν κύκλον, οὗ ἡ διάμετρος ποδῶν λ· γίνονται πόδες 𝔮δ δ΄· ταῦτα ἐπὶ τὴν διάμετρον· γίνονται πόδες βωκη· τούτων τὸ δ΄· γίνονται ψζ· ἀπὸ τούτων ὑφεῖλον τῶν ψζ τοῦ ἐλάσσονος τμήματος τὸ ἐμβαδόν· γίνονται πόδες 𝔮. ἔσται οὖν τοῦ μείζονος τμήματος πόδες χῑζ, τοῦ δὲ ἐλάσσονος πόδες (??).
