Περὶ τῆς ὑφαιρέσεως τοῦ ἔσωθεν ἀέρος, ἐὰν ἔχῃ μῆκος ποδῶν ϛ, πλάτος ποδῶν ϛ, κάθετον ποδῶν γ ἐκτὸς τοῦ πάχους τοῦ βησάλου, ποίει οὕτως· πολυπλασίασον τὸ μῆκος ἐπὶ τὸ πλάτος· γίνονται πόδες λϛ· ταῦτα ἐπὶ τὴν κάθετον· γίνονται πόδες ρη· ταῦτα δισσάκις· γίνονται σιϛ· τούτων τὸ γ΄· γίνονται πόδες οβ· καὶ εὑρίσκεις τοὺς λαγῶνας.
