ἐὰν δὲ θέλῃς εὑρεῖν καὶ ἄλλως τὸ ἐμβαδόν, ποίει οὕτως· λαβὲ τῶν λ τὸ γʹ καὶ τὸ ι΄· καὶ γίνονται ιγ. ταῦτα ἐπὶ τὰ λ· γίνονται τ𝒢· τοσούτων ἔσται σχοινίων τὸ ἐμβαδόν. ἔστι δὲ καὶ ἄλλως εὑρεῖν τὸ ἐμβαδόν. λαβὲ τὰ λ τῆς μιᾶς τῶν πλευρῶν καὶ πολλαπλασίασον ἐπὶ τὰ κς τῆς καθέτου· καὶ γίνονται ψπ· ὧν τὸ U+2220΄· γίνονται τ𝒢· τοσούτων σχοινίων ἔσται τὸ ἐμβαδόν.
