Μέθοδος καθολικὴ ἐπὶ τῶν πολυγόνων οὕτως. Ἔστω πεντάγωνος, οὗ διάμετρος ποδῶν κ΄· εὑρεῖν αὐτοῦ τὴν πλευρὰν οὕτως· πάντοτε τὴν διάμετρον καθολικῶς τριπλασιάζεις · γίνονται πόδες ξ΄· καὶ μερίζω παρὰ τὸν ε΄· γίνονται πόδες ιβ΄ τοσούτων ποδῶν ἐστιν ἡ πλευρὰ τοῦ πενταγώνου.
