Μέτρησις ὀκταγώνου. Εστω ὀκτάγωνον ἰσόπλευρον καὶ ἰσογώνιον καταγράψαι· ποίει τετράγωνον σχῆμα καὶ βλέπε αὐτοῦ τὴν διάγωνον· καὶ ὅταν εὕρῃς τὸ ἥμισυ τῆς διαγώνου, λάμβανε ἀπὸ γωνίας εἰς γωνίαν, καὶ εὑρίσκεις στῆσαι τὰς πλευράς.
