Δεῖ οὖν εἶναι ἐπὶ τῆς μετρήσεως τῶν ὁρίων καὶ λαμβάνειν τὸ ἐμβαδὸν τοῦ παντὸς καὶ ποιεῖν ἐπὶ τὸ ὕψος ἤτοι ἐπὶ τὸ βάθος· καὶ ὅταν εὕρῃς τὸ στερεὸν τοῦ παντὸς ἐμβαδοῦ τῆς ἀποθέσεως τοῦ σίτου, τότε πρὸς τὸν μόδιον ποίει τὰ μέτρα οὕτως. Ἐὰν ᾖ ὁ μόδιος ξεστῶν ιϚ΄, ποίει τὸ στερεὸν τοῦ σίτου ἤτοι κριθῶν ἐπὶ τὰ γ΄, καὶ τοσοῦτοι μόδιοι ἔσονται· ἐπειδὴ ὁ στερεὸς ποὺς χωρεῖ μοδίους γ΄, ἕκαστος μόδιος ἀπὸ ξεστῶν μϚ΄, ἕκαστος ξέστης οὐγγιῶν κ΄. Ἐὰν δὲ ᾖ ὁ μόδιος ξεστῶν ιη΄, ποίει τὸ στερεὸν τοῦ σίτου ἤτοι κριθῶν, καθὼς προγέγραπται, ἐπὶ τὰ β΄ Ϲ Ϛ”, καὶ τοσοῦτοι μόδιοι ἔσονται. Ἐὰν δὲ ᾖ ὁ μόδιος ξεστῶν κ΄, ποίει τὸ στερεὸν τοῦ ποδισμοῦ ἐπὶ τὰ β΄ γ” ιε”, καὶ τοσοῦτοι ἔσονται μόδιοι. Ἐὰν δὲ ᾖ ὁ μόδιος ξεστῶν κε΄, ποίει τὸ στερεὸν τοῦ ποδισμοῦ ἐπὶ τὰ α΄ Ϲ γ” ιε” ν”, καὶ τοσοῦτοι ἔσονται μόδιοι.
