Τρίγωνον ἰσοσκελές, οὗ ἡ κάθετος ποδῶν μ΄, ἡ δὲ βάσις ποδῶν ιβ΄· εὑρεῖν αὐτοῦ τὸ ἐμβαδόν· ποιῶ οὕτως· τὴν βάσιν ἐπὶ τὴν κάθετον γίνονται πόδες σμ΄· ὧν τὸ ἥμισυ γίνονται πόδες ρκ΄· ἔσται τὸ ἐμβαδὸν ποδῶν ρκ΄. Τριγώνου ἰσοσκελοῦς ἑκάστη τῶν ἴσων πλευρῶν ποδῶν κε΄, ἡ δὲ βάσις ποδῶν ιδ΄· εὑρεῖν αὐτοῦ τὸ ἐμβαδὸν καὶ τὴν κάθετον· ποιῶ οὕτως· ἑκάστης πλευρᾶς ποίησον ◻΄· γίνονται πόδες χκε΄· λαμβάνω τὸ Ϲ τῆς βάσεως· γίνονται πόδες ζ΄· ταῦτα ἐφʼ ἑαυτὰ γίνονται πόδες μθ΄· λοιπὸν μένουσι πόδες φοϚ΄· ὧν πλευρὰ τετραγωνικὴ γίνονται πόδες κδ΄· καὶ τὰ ζ΄ ἐπὶ τὴν κάθετον πόδες ρξη΄· τοσούτων ἔσται τὸ ἐμβαδόν.
