Πυραμίδα ἐπὶ τετραγώνου βεβηκυῖαν μετρήσωμεν οὕτως· ἧς ἑκάστη τῶν πλευρῶν τῆς βάσεως ἀπὸ ποδῶν κδ΄, καὶ τὸ κλίμα τῆς πυραμίδος ποδῶν ιη΄· εὑρεῖν αὐτῆς τὴν κάθετον καὶ τὸ στερεόν· ποιῶ οὕτως· τὰ κδ΄ τῆς βάσεως ἐχʼ ἑαυτὰ γίνονται πόδες φοϚ΄· ὧν τὸ Ϲ γίνονται πόδες σπη΄· καὶ τὰ ιη΄ τοῦ κλίματος ποιῶ ἐφʼ ἑαυτά· γίνονται πόδες τκδ΄· ἄρτι ὑφαιρῶ ἀπὸ τούτων τὰ σπη΄· λοιπὸν μένουσι πόδες λϚ΄· ὧν πλευρὰ τετραγωνικὴ γίνεται πόδες Ϛ΄· τοσούτου ἔσται ἡ κάθετος τῆς πυραμίδος. ἐπειδὴ οὖν κάθετος ποδῶν Ϛ΄, εὕρωμεν τὸ στερεόν· ποιῶ οὕτως· τὸ γ˝ τῆς καθέτου γίνονται πόδες β΄· ταῦτα ποιῶ ἐπὶ τὰ φοϚ΄· γίνονται αρνβ΄· τοσούτου ἐστὶ τὸ στερεὸν τῆς πυραμίδος.
